Daniel Rey - Rey Technologies

Rey Technologies Inc. is a family-owned company based in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. We specialize in empowering industrial manufacturing and engineering firms by delivering precision grinding solutions that streamline processes, increase productivity, and enhance profitability. Our expertise spans multiple sectors, including automotive, aerospace, medical devices, manufacturing, and tool production.

We collaborate with various manufacturing partners specializing in processing and refining challenging-to-manufacture materials to meet the most stringent tolerances and surface finish criteria. Our esteemed partners boast centuries of collective experience in grinding, precision hard turning, honing, super finishing, and advanced surface treatment technologies.

We proudly serve the Midwestern United States, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, while maintaining a robust network of sales and service representatives across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Passion

At the heart of Rey Technologies is Daniel Rey, a seasoned industry expert with a lifelong passion for precision engineering. Born and raised in Switzerland, Daniel began his journey with a four-year apprenticeship as a precision tool maker at Leica, a world-renowned manufacturer of optical instruments. His exceptional craftsmanship earned him international recognition, including third place in the World Skills Championship held in Leitz, Austria.

2025
Transition

Daniel’s career evolved as he joined the applications team at Fritz Studer AG in Thun, Switzerland, where he became an expert in cylindrical OD/ID, thread, and non-round grinding. His passion for problem-solving and precision manufacturing eventually brought him to the United States, where he applied his skills in the cutting tool manufacturing sector at EWAG Corporation.

Expertise

Building on his deep technical expertise, Daniel expanded his skill set through leadership roles at United Grinding, Blaser Swisslube, and Hardinge’s Grinding Group, focusing on sales, operations, and customer success. These experiences shaped his vision of providing tailored manufacturing solutions that address the unique challenges of each client.
